An elegant and seldom-seen Wedgwood sauce boat with matching underplate, printed in the refined and richly toned Darwin Orange Water Lily pattern. A superb example of Wedgwood’s early 19th-century transferware, notable for both its sculptural form and rare coloration.
The underplate and tureen feature clean, classic lines that highlight the delicate floral motif. Both are marked Wedgwood along with potter’s marks, indicating authenticity and period production.
Condition:
Good overall condition for its age. The underplate shows a tight hairline crack, visible in photos, but remains stable. No visible restoration. Tureen is in excellent condition, retaining crisp details and original glaze.
