Frederic III, King of Prussia – Circa Late 18th to Early 19th Century

 

A beautifully preserved white glass paste medallion depicting Frederic III, King of Prussia, attributed to the workshops of James Tassie or Prince Stanislas Poniatowski. The piece is signed “FRDER III R.P.” on the right side of the bust.

The medallion comes wrapped in its original paper backing, showing expected rubbing due to age. The reverse features a ghost image, visible in photos – a fascinating and unique detail.

With paper wrapping: 1″ x 7/8″

Condition:
Excellent condition for its age. Minor rubbing to the paper backing, as shown. No cracks or repairs.
